At FS Music, our instructors help beginners build a strong piano and keyboard foundation through method books, popular songs, and essential techniques like hand positioning, rhythm, and note reading.
Most students start in our group band program, with weekly private lessons and band rehearsals to develop confidence and musical teamwork. As they progress, they can move up to our rock band performance program, playing in a full band setting for live shows.

Intermediate to Advanced Piano/Keyboard Lessons
FS Music’s intermediate and advanced piano and keyboard lessons help students refine technique, expand their repertoire, and build confidence. Private lessons focus on sight-reading, chord progressions, improvisation, and advanced music theory, while ensemble work enhances overall musicianship.
Students start in our group band program, receiving weekly private lessons and rehearsals to develop their skills alongside other musicians. As they progress, they can work their way up to the rock band performance program, playing in a full band setting and performing live.

FS Music Recitals for private students
At FS Music, we make it easy! We take organization and progress tracking seriously. At the end of each lesson, we create a video recap summarizing what the student worked on, highlighting key techniques, and setting goals for the next session. This ensures that students can review their lesson anytime and continue improving between sessions. Additionally, all assignments—both current and past—are stored in the student's personal portal, keeping everything neatly organized. Whether it's a new song, technique drills, or past exercises, students have easy access to their full assignment history, making practice structured and efficient.

At FS Music, most teens start in our group band program, where they receive weekly private lessons (30 minutes or 1 hour) and band rehearsals, helping them develop their skills while playing alongside others. This hands-on experience improves technique, rhythm, and musical confidence in a fun, supportive environment.
Once ready, students advance to our rock band performance program, continuing with weekly private lessons and rehearsals while preparing for live performances. Teens also have opportunities to participate in competitions such as the Florida Federation of Music Clubs Junior Festival and the Ocala Symphony Orchestra's Young Artist Competition.

Keyboard players are also a strong part of the adult guitar program, which has a large community of musicians who enjoy playing in a group setting, collaborating, and exploring different styles. What Age Should a Child Start Piano or Keyboard Lessons?
There’s no perfect age to start piano lessons, but most children around 5 or 6 can begin learning basic techniques.
