BEGINNER DRUM LESSONS
At FS Music, our expert instructors help beginners build a strong drumming foundation by focusing on essential techniques such as stick control, rudiments, rhythm, and timing. Using popular songs, we make learning engaging and enjoyable while helping students develop confidence behind the kit.
Our beginner drum lessons emphasize both individual progress and optional group collaboration, with weekly private lessons and opportunities to play with others. Whether you're drumming for fun or working toward performing, FS Music provides a supportive environment tailored to your musical journey.
INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED DRUM LESSONS
FS Music’s intermediate and advanced drum lessons build on the fundamentals learned in beginner programs, helping drummers refine their technique, develop precision, and expand their rhythmic vocabulary.
Students receive private instruction with a focus on stick control, advanced rudiments, dynamic control, and complex rhythms. In addition, we incorporate sight-reading and reading exercises to help drummers improve their ability to interpret drum notation and enhance their overall musicianship.
For those looking to play in a full band setting, our Group Band Program provides the perfect opportunity to develop ensemble skills. Once drummers feel confident in their abilities, they can advance to our Rock Band Performance Program, where they will take the stage and perform live with a full band. Our experienced instructors tailor lessons to each student’s goals, ensuring steady progress and confidence—whether on stage, in the studio, or for personal growth.
At FS Music, we make it easy! We take organization and progress tracking seriously. At the end of each lesson, we create a video recap summarizing what the student worked on, highlighting key techniques, and setting goals for the next session. This ensures that students can review their lesson anytime and continue improving between sessions. Additionally, all assignments—both current and past—are stored in the student's personal portal, keeping everything neatly organized. Whether it's a new song, technique drills, or past exercises, students have easy access to their full assignment history, making practice structured and efficient.
DRUM LESSONS FOR KIDS
At FS Music, most young drummers start in our Group Band Program, where they get weekly private lessons and band rehearsals, learning to play alongside other musicians in a fun, supportive setting. This hands-on experience builds rhythm, teamwork, and confidence faster than private lessons alone.
Once ready, students move to our Rock Band Performance Program, continuing with weekly private lessons and rehearsals while preparing for live performances. FS Music makes learning exciting—start with Group Band and grow into a true performer!
DRUM LESSONS FOR TEENS
At FS Music, most teens start in our Group Band Program, where they receive weekly private lessons (30 minutes or 1 hour) and band rehearsals, helping them build confidence while singing with others. This hands-on experience improves pitch, stage presence, and harmonization in a fun, supportive environment.
Once ready, students advance to our Rock Band Performance Program, continuing with weekly private lessons and rehearsals while preparing for live performances. Whether training for auditions, performances, or just singing for fun, FS Music helps every teen find their voice!
DRUM LESSONS FOR ADULTS
At FS Music, adults can start with private lessons (30 minutes or 1 hour per week) or join our Group Band Program, where they get weekly private lessons and band rehearsals to build confidence in a supportive setting.
For those looking to perform, our Rock Band Performance Program takes vocalists to the next level with weekly private lessons and full-band rehearsals, preparing them for live performances.
If you also play guitar, you can join our Adult Guitar Program, combining both skills to develop rhythm, coordination, and confidence as a vocalist and instrumentalist. FS Music makes it easy to grow your voice and musicianship in a way that fits your goals!

WHAT AGE SHOULD A CHILD START DRUM LESSONS?
There’s no perfect age to start drum lessons, but most children under 6 or 7 may not yet have the coordination and focus needed for formal training. However, younger children can begin with fun, rhythm-based activities to develop timing, hand-eye coordination, and basic drumming skills. If a child is motivated and eager to drum, they can start learning fundamental techniques at an early age.

CAN I OR MY CHILD LEARN DRUMS WITHOUT A DRUM SET?
Yes! Many beginners start without a full drum set. Practicing rudiments, rhythm exercises, and coordination drills on a practice pad is a great way to develop essential skills before investing in a full kit. Our instructors can also recommend simple at-home practice setups that simulate drumming without disturbing the household. When you're ready for a drum set, we’ll help guide you to the best option for your needs!
