No! The Adult Rock Band Performance Program is open to musicians of all ages, including adults and seniors. Whether you're a beginner or experienced player, we have a version tailored for adults and seniors who want to explore their musical talents and perform in a band setting. We also have a strong community of adult musicians who support each other, making it a welcoming and collaborative environment for everyone.
Every student learns at their own pace, but with regular practice, most beginners can start playing simple chords and songs within a few weeks. Developing strong technique and mastering more complex skills can take several months to a few years, depending on practice consistency and lesson frequency.
Yes! The FS Music Adult Group Band Program welcomes anyone who has ever played an instrument, whether you're a complete beginner or someone returning after years away. This program helps build essential skills in a relaxed, no-pressure group setting, making it the perfect way to ease back into playing music.
Yes! Playing piano can help improve finger dexterity, flexibility, and circulation, making it a great low-impact activity for adults with joint pain or arthritis. Regular playing keeps the hands moving, which can help maintain mobility and reduce stiffness. Our instructors can also adjust techniques to ensure a comfortable playing experience.
While formal guitar lessons may be challenging for very young children, we focus on building musical foundations for kids of all ages. If your child is not quite ready for guitar instruction, we can introduce them to rhythm, melody, and basic music concepts to prepare them for lessons when they are ready.
At FS Music, we believe in a structured and organized approach to learning. Our award-winning student portal allows students to track their progress with detailed lesson notes, assignment history, and video recaps of each session. This means students and parents can easily review past lessons, stay on top of current assignments, and see measurable growth over time.
No! Many drummers start by learning through listening and playing by ear. However, at FS Music, we incorporate drum notation and rhythm reading into lessons to help students become well-rounded musicians. Learning to read music can improve timing, coordination, and the ability to play a wider range of styles.
Yes! Anyone can learn to sing with the right training and practice. While some people may have a natural ability, proper technique, breath control, and consistent lessons help develop a strong, confident voice. Our instructors at FS Music focus on helping every student unlock their vocal potential, no matter their starting point.
Our private lessons go beyond just weekly sessions. With our student portal, students have access to their personalized learning path, including assignments, video recaps, and lesson notes, all in one place. This ensures that practice between lessons is clear and effective, helping students improve faster and stay engaged in their learning journey.

Yes. Playing bass or guitar can help improve finger dexterity, strength, and mobility, making it a great low-impact activity for adults with joint pain or arthritis. Our instructors can also adjust techniques to make playing more comfortable based on individual needs.
First, students work with their instructor to choose the right competition based on skill level and goals. Then, they prepare a performance piece, focusing on technique, expression, and stage presence. Many competitions, such as the Florida Federation of Music Clubs Junior Festival and Ocala Symphony Orchestra's Young Artist Competition, require an audition or recorded submission. FS Music helps students every step of the way, from selecting repertoire to performance coaching.

No! Many singers start without knowing how to read music. At FS Music, we incorporate sight-reading and music theory into our lessons, helping students develop a deeper understanding of melody, rhythm, and harmony over time. This skill enhances their ability to learn songs, harmonize, and even write their own music.
Our program combines both private and group learning in each 45-minute session. You'll receive individual guidance from an instructor while also playing along with classmates to develop timing, rhythm, and confidence in a real-world setting. Learning through songs keeps it engaging and practical, helping you progress naturally.
